Cool under fire

No one can deny that Eric Mangini is sitting on a hot seat now, so we must admit that he is good at acting . He seemed pretty cool.

The result that whether he will be back as a coach for the secong season with the Cleveland Browns will be uncovered after meeting on Monday or Tuesday with new team president Mike Holmgren. The Browns have won three games into Sunday's season finale against Jacksonville. Mangini said he felt relaxed when he was not that focused and he just wanted to make some resolutions for New year's. He pretended to write a note. “Dear guys,” he said, scribbling an imaginary pen into the podium. “No bus rides to Hartford.”

He seemed as cool as a cucumber under fire. Whatever, I like the browns jerseys.

Holmgren needs more time

We all know the Super Bowl-winning coach in Green Bay--Holmgren has singned a five-year contract with Cleveland working as the team president. Now another coacn's fate is in his hands.

But Holmgren said he has not yet decided if coach Eric Mangini will return as Browns coach next year. He would not make a decision untill the end of this season. “It would be really unfair,” Holmgren said on a 25-minute conference call from Arizona. “He’s at the end of finishing his first season here and the team is doing well, clearly responding to him. That type of decision will be made once I get back there.” They had talked on the phone about other “football” issues, but nothing concerned the coach’s future.

To Holmgren, he just want all the guys with browns jersey could try their best to play well.

Houston's offense

Houston only got one touchdown this weekend fighting with St Louis during their four trips.

Some fans criticized Houston's performance beat the lowly Rams which just won once to 16-13. Coach Gary Kubiak was not care about those opinions. “There’s no such thing as an ugly win,” he said. “A win’s a win. I don’t think we played down to anything. I just think we played sloppy. We gave our opponent a chance.” “We’re struggling to run the ball and the field gets smaller down there, so coverage gets tougher, so that’s adding to it,” Kubiak said. “But I don’t think it was the deciding factor on why we were 1 for 4 (Sunday). I think we still could have been effective.”

Houston need to make their offense more active. All the fans want to see more engetics players shining their texans jerseys.

Cowboys have a big win

Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys refreshed after a wild Saturday night in New Orleans and showed their new outlook on things.

The Cowboys erased the three-game losing streak and won plyoff chances totally. The most important thing is that they got rid of as December choke artists.Despite opening the month with back-to-back losses, the Cowboys can have a winning record in December/January for the first time since 1996 by winning their final two games. “We’ve got to come into the next game ready and focused,” safety Ken Hamlin(notes) said. “It’s a big win, but it won’t mean nothing if we lose the next one.”

All the guys with dallas cowboys jerseysstill need to win next game to hold their reputation.

Colts have six players out of practice

Injuries is NFL's life. But it's also very incredible to hear that Colts had six players out of practice due to injuries.

Pro Bowl defensive ends Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis were absent from the Indianapolis Colts’ practice, keeping them questionable for Thursday's game at Jacksonville. How the coach deal with the matter is a puzzle and Jim Caldwell said he would arrange the healthy guys to step in.But Freeney (abdomen) and Mathis (quadriceps) were also on the list of the injury reserver. The others were cornerback Jerraud Powers(notes) (left hamstring), safety Antoine Bethea(notes) (foot), defensive lineman Eric Foster(notes) (back) and left tackle Charlie Johnson(notes) (foot).

What's worse was that there were still four missed practice and did not join in the game Sunday.Hope these guys could wear their colts jerseys soon.

Cowboys OLB DeMarcus Ware injured his neck

We won't see the No.94 dallas cowboys jersey for a long time because Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware was off the field by a cart after being injured early in the fourth quarter against the Chargers.

With 11:28 to play in regulation, Ware collided head-first with the leg of Chargers tackle Brandyn Dombrowski on a pass rush. Ware was immobilized and placed on a stretcher.
The preliminary report was that Ware had a sprained neck, but he had full movement and strength in his extremities. Ware was taken to the hospital for X-rays and further evaluation. The severity of Ware’s injury was not immediately known.

The scary sight was terrible. The guy were surrounded by medical staff, but he gave a thumbs-up sign lead to a cheer from the crowd.

Lions keep low on QB Matt Stafford’s Injury

Though expected,Lions officials declined to say much about the rookie QB Matthew Staffor and whether he joins in the game at Baltimore next week or not is also doutful.

Coach Jim Schwartz said Monday he has a good idea but he needs to keep it quite that he doesn't hope to draw Baltimore to a situation with disadvantage.Bengals LB Dhani Jones had a fight with Stafford in the fourth quarter of this past Sunday’s game for a sack, then Stafford hurt his left shoulder and left the game.

Lions officials say considering of his status, the coaches would sit Stafford for a game.So we won't see this No.9lions jersey guy this week.

Bears fight the Rams to a stand-off

Jay Culter started the game with his own way.Chicago Bears seemed to go ahead with a win streak.

Culter quit after the strong start and the Bears ended the game with 17-9 Sunday after dropping four straight and six of seven.“It feels like it’s been a long time,” he said. “It wasn’t the prettiest game but we pulled it out. Defensively I thought we did a great job.”Culter was 4 for 7 for 131 yards in the first quarter as the Bears built a 10-0 lead. After that,Bears receiver Hester left the game with a calf injury.Chicago is not that lucky as the Vikings against one of the worst team in the league.

Is Willis helpful?

The Seahawks say goodbye to the playoffs again.Yet Patrick Willis thinks they have much to do against San Francisco.Matt Hasselbeck’s broken ribs.

“I don’t think they’ve forgotten about it,” the 49ers’ thudding linebacker said of the hit at the goal line he put on Hasselbeck Sept. 20. It sent this three-time ProBowl passer with No.52seahawks jersey to Stanford Medical Center in an ambulance amid fears he had lung or heart issues.“They are going to try to come at me,” Willis said.Hasselbeck just shook his head and laughed at that.“If my teammates liked me more, maybe,” the three-time Pro Bowl passer joked. “They probably don’t even remember (the play).”

We will wait and see whether it's helpful or not.

Jaguars Mathis won't back recently

Jaguars cornerback Rashean Mathis is back to the field this week.Moving, shuffling.
He said he feels good but Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio did not think so.Del Rio deceided to fight with the Houston Texans without their top defensive back and their top rival is All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson."There's no sense in dragging that out," Del Rio said Wednesday. "He's just not ready to go yet. We'll take another peek and hope for next week. He is running and starting to move around and bring himself back. At a skill position like that, he's going to need to show that over a little bit of time before we can put him out there."Mathis who owns the franchise record for interceptions, got his groin injured when they fight with New York Jets last month.
They push rookie Derek Cox and second-year pro Tyron Brackenridge into Mathis' position to decrece the damage of losing Mathis.
